Local First Grader Wins National Kid Kindness Grant for Inspiring Project
Granite Falls, NC – Caleb Davis, a local first grader, has been awarded a prestigious Kid Kindness Grant from Kindness Grows Here, a national organization dedicated to empowering young changemakers. Selected from a pool of 277 applicants, Caleb’s project, You Can Always Celebrate Something, stood out for its creativity, compassion, and dedication to helping others.
Through his project, Caleb will create birthday kits for children who visit local soup kitchens and food pantries, ensuring every child has the opportunity to celebrate their special day, regardless of circumstances. Each kit will include essential party supplies such as decorations, candles, and other festive items to make birthdays memorable for families in need.
“Caleb is passionate about nature, animals, and helping others, and this project reflects his big heart and commitment to spreading joy,” said Emily Elliott, mother. “I am so proud of him for stepping up to make a difference in our community.”
This year’s Kid Kindness Grant program saw a 114% increase in applications, with a total of 277 submissions from across the country. Caleb’s project was among a select group chosen to receive funding, a testament to his innovative idea and the impact it will have on his community.
Kindness Grows Here launched the Kid Kindness Grant program to empower young people like Caleb to lead projects that inspire kindness and make the world a better place.
